巨蛇座R是在赤道星座巨蛇座的一颗蒭藁型变星。它的视星等在5.16和14.4等之间变化,光谱类型在M5e至M8e变动,周期为356.41日[5][11]卡尔·路德维希·哈丁在1826年发现这颗恒星是颗变星[12]
