《探险活宝：遥远的秘境》[注 1]（英语：Adventure Time: Distant Lands）是一部2020年美国网络电视节目，是以卡通频道在2010年至2018年间首播、潘得顿·沃德的卡通《探险活宝》为基础制作的第一部派生作品。本剧共有四集，每集45分钟长[注 2]，由卡通频道以及弗雷德瑞特工作室（英语：Frederator Studios）参与制作；2020年6月25日，正式在美国的HBO Max流平台上线。

延续前作《探险活宝》，《探险活宝：遥远的秘境》里主要角色有些在前一部作品都有出现；故事情节跟两位主角（即人类阿宝，以及他的挚友兼养兄弟、伸缩自如的魔法狗老皮）的探险故事有关系。在《探险活宝》，阿宝和老皮兄弟两人生活在后末日时代的“哇赛秘境”（Land of Ooo）[5]:78，和其他角色交互，包括哔莫、泡泡糖公主和艾薇尔等等；故事主轴是两兄弟探险、发现奇特生物、与怪物战斗以帮助他人的故事。[6]

2016年9月29日，卡通频道正式宣布《探险活宝》将会完结[7]。在此前后，特别篇在探险活宝第十季的制作阶段时，就已经具备雏形。由于《探险活宝》之前的特别集数以及迷你系列（如艾薇尔的神秘特辑（英语：Stakes (miniseries)））都相当成功，几个编剧开始尝试一些长度比较长的故事。有两个点子比较多的故事：哔莫在外太空、泡泡糖公主和艾薇尔的感情故事。但是当这些故事还在制作阶段的时候，由于《探险活宝》提前结束，这些故事就先被搁置下来[8]。《探险活宝》最后的故事大纲在2016年11月中旬完成[9]，并在11月28日正式确定剧本[10][11][12]；配音则在2017年1月31日完成[13][14][15]。《探险活宝》最后一集《跟我一起来》，在2018年9月3日播出，获得很高的评价。[16][17][18][19]

制作过程 编辑

《探险活宝》完结之后，HBO和卡通频道因HBO Max流服务准备开始营运，决定让探险活宝系列再继续[8]；HBO Max是华纳媒体下辖的一个视频点播服务。这使得之后《探险活宝：遥远的秘境》和探险活宝所有季数不同，这部特别篇将会先在HBO Max的平台上线[20]。新特别篇由卡通频道以及弗雷德瑞特工作室（英语：Frederator Studios）参与制作；编剧团队又把之前搁置的故事拿来用，做出四部特别篇。[8]制作过程中为保密，剧组不能在办公室里公然张贴任何特别篇的相关设计图，所以使用一个假想的新剧，取名“Rumble Jaw”（直译“轰隆下巴”）作为代号掩护，还给这部不存在的“Rumble Jaw”做了假的设计图和假宣传画[21][22]。

长期担任《探险活宝》总监的亚当·穆托继续指导特别篇的制作。除部分原制作团队成员，如杰克·彭达维斯（Jack Pendarvis）、汉娜·K·奈斯特伦（Hanna K. Nyström）[23][24]之外，有新成员参与制作。例如，编剧有克里斯蒂娜·卡特契（Christina Catucci）、查利·费尔德曼（Charley Feldman）等人[25][26]；分镜师包括阿什林·安斯特（Ashlyn Anstee）[27]、伊基·克雷格（Iggy Craig）[28]、梅根·费雪（Megan Fisher）[29]、玛雅·彼德森（Maya Petersen）等等[30][31]。在2019年6月到9月间，珍妮·戈德堡（Jenny Goldberg）担任特别篇的艺术总监。[32]角色配音方面，对于一些在《探险活宝》的主角群，制作团队也聘请了原本的配音人员；如阿宝由杰里米·沙达配音[33][注 3]，其他重要角色如老皮、哔莫、泡泡糖公主、艾薇尔、薄荷管家等，其配音人员依然是原班人马[34]。新角色的配音人员中，配音Y5的葛萝莉·柯达（Glory Curda）[35]、配音希果（CGO）的西蒙·吉尔兹（英语：Simone Giertz）[36]，两人都曾表示，在加入探险活宝的制作团队之前，就已经是这部作品的忠实粉丝[37][38]。

本特别篇制作时，原《探险活宝》制作人员有四位已经过世：波利·卢·利文斯顿（英语：Polly Lou Livingston）[39][40]、米格尔·费雷尔（英语：Miguel Ferrer）[41][42]、米歇尔·莱曼（Michel Lyman）[43]、莫琳·美兰雅奇克（Maureen Mlynarczyk）[44]。费雷尔、利文斯顿两位曾在剧中配音，而莱曼、美兰雅奇克则都是《探险活宝》动画团队的成员以及艾美奖得主[45][46]。因此，第三集《猴塞雷大回归》片尾特别列出四位的名字，以纪念他们。

2019年10月23日，《探险活宝：遥远的秘境》即将上线的消息正式公开发布；当时宣布此特别篇将会有四集，依序为：《哔莫》（BMO）、《最强姊妹花》（Obsidian）、《巫师城》（Wizard City）、以及《猴塞雷大回归》（Together Again）[47][48]。第一集《哔莫》于2020年6月25日在美国的HBO Max平台上线[49][50]；第二集《最强姊妹花》则是在2020年11月19日[51]。2021年4月21日，HBO Max宣布《巫师城》和《猴塞雷大回归》将调换播出顺序[52][53]。制作人员解释，特别篇本来只制作三集，而《巫师城》是后来才追加制作的[54][55]。第三集《猴塞雷大回归》上线日期是2021年5月20日[56]；最后第四集《巫师城》在2021年9月2日上线[57]。

在台湾，《探险活宝：遥远的秘境》第一集《哔莫》于2020年12月12日在台湾卡通频道首播[58]。第二集《最强姊妹花》于2021年3月27日首播，播出前一个小时重播第一集《哔莫》[59][60]；两集都在一周后的4月3日重播[61][62]。第三集《猴塞雷大回归》于2021年7月3日首播[63][64]；若计入这一集的首播，卡通频道在同一个月将前三集各播出三次[65][66]。第四集《巫师城》在万圣节前一天，即2021年10月30日首播[67]。之后到2024年，《探险活宝：遥远的秘境》亦有重播[68]。

该集的评价大多正面。ComicBook.com的罗林·毕夏（Rollin Bishop）评论，比起其他角色，哔莫的特点是“最天真、最容易遇上麻烦”，认为这让这集使他完全可以从头看到尾[81]。有评论指这一集同时有着喜剧特征、像梦一样的逻辑以及超现实英雄主义[50]。另有评论指《探险活宝：遥远的秘境》重现原作的精髓[82]；彼得拉娜·拉杜洛维奇（Petrana Radulovic）在Polygon则称它有跟原作一样给人忧郁的感触[83]。也有评论不那么正面。有一篇Vulture.com（英语：Vulture.com）的文章，一方面称赞哔莫的表现，一方面也认为这集令人失望[69]。戴夫·特朗波（Dave Trumbore）在Collider的文章从故事结构来批评，认为若从故事节奏、角色设置来看，做得太仓促。[84]

为Y5配音的葛萝莉·柯达在一次Reddit的问答里，说Y5的故事有很多“潜台词”，在展现找到自己是谁的方式“非常具代表性”[85]；Y5在哔莫离开后有所成长，为了漂流号，她成为一个领导者以及开拓者[37]。亚历山大·索瓦（Alexander Sowa）在CBR的文章，称雨果是个“未来学家”，是像伊隆·马斯克、史蒂夫·乔布斯一类的人，他们的特点是一种很明显对当代企业、资本主义的讽刺；又称，雨果是个毁掉他周围环境的资本家、殖民主义者，像Y5反对他的人俨然是个争取平等的斗士，推动建立一种对居民更公平的新型社会类型[86]。乔·马塔尔（Joe Matar）也有类似的论点。他在Den of Geek（英语：Den of Geek）撰文，认为这集的故事里的居民意识到自己的家园，正被像马斯克一样的高科技资本巨头给毁掉，这让他们团结起来并互相扶持[87]。《洛杉矶时报》的电视评论家，罗伯特·洛依德（Robert Lloyd），文章里也说这集到最后点出社会问题，对应的是地球的毁灭、资源管理的本质、合作的重要性、以及“有些亿万富翁把外太空当成逃生舱”。[88]

在影音俱乐部的文章里，威廉·休斯（William Hughes）给这一集A级，并表示这是给粉丝最棒的“杀必死”（fan service）[89]。 瑞贝卡·朗（Rebecca Long）也在Polygon给予其正面评价。她写道，这集给粉丝们一个他们一直以来在情感上渴望的回报与答案，并探索艾薇尔的童年创伤、与泡泡糖公主的浪漫史、两人如何相通、并填补她过去的空白。尽管这集不像前一部特别篇这么“另类”，它在情感分量和情节上却更沉重，显示出原作的“浪漫潜台词”一向都很直接。同时，朗也指出，她对泡泡糖公主和艾薇尔之间的交互并不全都喜欢，由于故事结构、叙事手法依旧，特别篇有缺陷，以及“泡泡糖公主有前后不一之处”；不过这集依然真诚有力，新歌让它更完美，泡泡糖公主和艾薇尔有个“共同未来，看来如此真实。”[73]

在IGN的文章里，罗西·奈特（Rosie Knight）写说这是个探险活宝如何拥有这么大影响力的完美例子。奈特又认为，这部特别篇的最大本钱，是拉近对这一切还很陌生的新粉丝的距离，并同时让忠实粉丝两者都能一起坐下来，看这个关于变老、恋爱以及安身立命的风流韵事；同时，艾薇尔的力量来自她对泡泡糖公主的爱。奈特也赞扬“Monster”一曲，说它跟之前的歌“I'm Just Your Problem”（来自探险活宝第三季的《少了什么》）、“Everything Stays”（来自探险活宝第七季的《艾薇尔的神秘特辑（英语：Stakes (miniseries)）》系列）一样经典。文章总结说，尽管这可以被认为只是个“杀必死”，它是“杀必死”中最高级的一种；这集动画很完美，而且就《探险活宝》的传承而言，又是一个很好的补充。[90]彼得拉娜·拉杜洛维奇在Polygon的另一篇文章里称，2020年是令人挫败的一年，可在这一年，就老少皆宜的作品里面，这集在先前循序渐进的铺陈下，描述泡泡糖公主和艾薇尔的感情故事；如此令人振奋地称颂同性恋关系，这在五年以前可谓前所未闻。她又写道，尽管还有发展空间，这一集可以为这年（2020年）——同性恋动画作品大行其道的一年——做个完美收尾[91]。

亚历山大·索瓦于CBR关于本集的文章里，形容它是一个关于时间的故事，里面有很多回顾、关于永生者的故事；索瓦写道，泡泡糖公主和艾薇尔两人心里上都能保持年轻，即使他们的伙伴终有一天会老死[92]。西恩·库比拉斯（Sean Cubillas）也有类似说法。他表示这一集充满感性，而且还显示出艾薇尔也相较前作中有所成长、她和泡泡糖公主过去怎么认识和分手[93]。同时，笔名“Princess Weekes”的记者在这集上线之前撰文，说这集令她放心，因为就呈现酷儿一事来说有一点无庸置疑，那就是即使是爱上一个人，也无法就此解决个性以及感情上的问题[94]。2020年即将结束时，《纽约时报》点名《最强姊妹花》是当年最棒的一集剧集，说这是HBO Max能存在的最好理由。[95]

这一集获得正面评价。罗林·毕夏描述，其剧情迅速穿越多个奇幻世界，穿插幽默、回忆以及兄弟情，也给人一种大起大落的心情[96]。卡罗琳·高（Caroline Gao）在Den of Geek（英语：Den of Geek）的文章表示，这一集是一篇成功的黑暗长篇故事。同时她也把阿宝与老皮的感情，和前一集中泡泡糖公主和艾薇尔的感情比较；她认为，这一集剧情深度不及之前的完结篇《跟我一起来》，与其放在完结篇后作为一集特别节目，更适合放进《探险活宝》中间某一季的内容里[97]。IndieWire首席影评人艾瑞克·柯恩（Eric Kohn）觉得这集可爱、是个“杀必死”，不过没有原剧设计的那么巧妙；尽管如此，它还是带来很多快乐，有很多配角再次出现，而且感人的部分跟2020年皮克斯动画工作室电影《灵魂急转弯》有相通之处。[98]

彼得拉娜·拉杜洛维奇描述，前两集显示情感并试着探讨更深刻的问题；而第三集从一个探险开始后变成一种“令人伤心的东西”，然后又变成像一种心情的云霄飞车。她说，除了其他角色有出现之外，这一集的视觉效果相当华丽，基本上象征剧中阿宝和老皮的冒险本身；评论这集“漂亮、有力，是一个令人心酸的结局”，也捕捉到探险活宝本身在情感上的深度[99]。在CBR，鲁本·巴伦（Reuben Baron）评价这一集接近完美，并提到预告片中一直没透露的真正剧情：阿宝和老皮重聚展开最大的冒险，就是在他们死亡的时候。他认为，即使未来有更多探险活宝的内容，这一集已经是阿宝和老皮的故事最好的结局[75]。

《巫师城》 编辑

与前几集相比，这一集获得的评价褒贬不一。凯尔·罗根（Kyle Logan）评论，这集的主调和原剧脱节，乍看之下是以一个广受观众喜爱的角色——薄荷管家作为主角，结果却不符合观众的期望。薄荷管家成为一个反派角色，交互显得公式化、乃至于背离了原本这个角色的设置。罗根总结，这集令他失望，未能发挥其巨大潜力[100]。亚历杭德拉·博登（Alejandra Bodden）表示，她对这一集角色一连串的死亡感到惊讶；她喜欢薄荷糖，但是剧情和他的处境却相当糟糕。尽管这一集是四集特别篇中最弱的，博登依然觉得这集还不错[101]。大卫·卡尔多（David Kaldor）则评论，这一集在《探险活宝》中，剧情水平合格，不过缺乏前三集所具备的情感张力。这一集的位置造成其定位尴尬，作为一部特别篇的结尾显得奇怪；不过由于有另一部特别篇也即将推出，《探险活宝》系列不是在这里真的结束[78]。

鲁本·巴伦将《巫师城》与探险活宝第六季中《邪恶小星星》、第九季中《阴魔王再次回归》相比较，认为这两集内容跟前者相近。两集合起来不过二十多分钟，却比将近五十分钟的《巫师城》更有趣；这个特别篇的最后一集，其可预测性、重复性先前在探险活宝中是很少见的[79]。奥特姆·赖特描述，巫师城不可避免会让人想起2020年的迪士尼频道作品《奇幻猫头鹰小屋》；而其中许多非人类的角色，在性别上也更加转义传统。以一位配角布连恩（Blaine）为例，他不是人类、只有一只眼睛，有时被视为男孩；但他有时也穿裙子，人们用非二元性别人称代词“他们”（them/they）称呼。还有，薄荷糖和卡黛布拉（Cadebra）尽管是异性，两人还是室友；制服是长短裤、裙子等样式都有。赖特认为这些细节展示了酷儿的生活状态；即使《奇幻猫头鹰小屋》、《神娃之伊莎莉亚战记》已有同性恋角色的剧情发展在先，《巫师城》在这方面似乎仍略胜一筹[102]。

第一集《哔莫》有一首原创单曲，名为“Fresh Potatoes”[111]。在第二集《最强姊妹花》，有6首原创歌曲。美国歌手米卡拉·斯特劳斯（英语：King Princess）翻唱其中一首“Monster”，在2020年11月13日发行单曲。[112][113]
