美国大学列表

截至2011年 (2011-Missing required parameter 1=month!)，美国有4599所有授予学位资格的高等学校，其中四年制的2870所，两年制的1729所[1]。当中著名的高校以私立居多。以下将列出各地区的高等学校。

关于美国的大学认证 编辑

美国所有大学都经过联邦或州政府审批和监管才能开始办学，有些大学可自愿向各类民间组织申请认证，美国教育部不参与认证任何大学，认证由美国教育部授权的行业性民间组织完成，“认证”的实质是在政府监督下的同行评议。由于认证民间组织靠向所认证的大学收取高额年费自负盈亏，所以经过认证的美国大学并不代表其拥有高水准的教学质量，反之未参加认证的美国大学也可能是高水准的大学。美国教育部意识到其中问题，所以申明所有认证出于自愿。由于民间组织权威性问题日益突出，因此近年来一些著名的美国大学逐渐开始停止支付认证年费给认证机构从而退出认证机制。

美国有两个层次的认证机构。一个是6大地区性认证（Regional Accreditation）机构。另一个是全国性认证（National Accreditation）机构的认证，全美共有47个全国性认证机构。

六个区域认证机构: 美国有六个区域认证机构，它们主要功能在评估教育单位，包括公立和私立大学和学院及其他相关学校. 这六个机构是:

New England Association of Schools and Colleges
North Central Association of Colleges and Schools
Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges
Southern Association of Colleges and Schools
Western Association of Schools and Colleges

教育部通过教育部教育涉外监管信息网（www.jsj.edu.cn）和中国留学网（www.cscse.edu.cn）公布了43个中国公民主要留学国家1万多所学校名单，基本涵盖了中国公民主要留学目的地国的正规高等学校。所公布名单根据有关情况定期调整，目前为第三十九版，更新时间为2013年2月18日。请参见教育部公布的43个国家学校名单

台湾 编辑

从前有关外国高等教育文凭认证皆以大学或学院之“校名”为准，如今则针对“系所”而承认大学文凭。详情务必参照中华民国教育部外国大学参考名册[2]。
